MORE Summerland FUN

Brooklyn is playing with her cousins Halle and Kyler. Jacob and his little side-kick Kyler. Grandma bought Chandler the new Harry Potter book, so for a week, until the book was finished, Chandler wasn't doing much else!

Summerland FUN

This has become an annual Summerland event...."the Kid Toss". Here are Jacob and Chandler being thrown by Aaron and Uncle Jeremy

On Our Way...

Notice the pictures from the Grand Coulee Dam in Washington...a nice sunny hot day. When we were about 20 min away from the campground, this is what we see...a beautiful double rainbow! This is what we missed...the most rain in one day since 1946!!

The Grand Coulee Dam

The dam was amazing! When went into the Visitor's Center for more than an hour. We learned that with the amount of concrete that supports the dam, you could build a sidewalk 4 inches think and 4 feet wide TWICE around the equator! Then we were back in the car, oops, I mean minivan and our way to Summerland, BC!!

Summerland

So...off we go...2 parents, 3 kids..it all started off great. Aaron's parents were kind enough to take us to the airport early Thursday, July 19th. We got on our first plane, a nice short ride to Chicago. Got on our next plane to Spokane and they announce that we will be stopping in SLC, Utah. If you stay on the plane, they don't count it as a layover! Explain that to the kids!! I have a nice nap, and arrive in Spokane 4 hours later to find our luggage SOAKING wet, and SWA was kind enough to only tear our NEW luggage! When I say SOAKING, I mean one of my shirts had mold on it when I unpacked it! ..yeah, soaking wet! ANYWAY, after a long trip we get to the rental car counter. They are out of the full-size cars and upgraded us to a mini-van for the same price. Kind of them and I took a picture since I said I would NEVER drive a mini-van! After being crammed in the plane, the room in the van was much appreciated by all. Our first stop....the Grand Coulee Dam.

"Am I married"????

"Am I married"? Brooklyn asked me recently. I told her no. She wanted to know WHEN she would get married. I told her when she was as old as me. Then she asked me who I was married to. I told her "Daddy". She asked me why Daddy married me. I said "because he loves me". In the sweetest voice I have ever heard, "well, Daddy loves me too, I want him to marry me!!!"
