Thanksgiving Vitamins

Thanksgiving morning, I was outside cutting Aaron's hair. I came in after about 3 minutes because I forgot the water bottle. The boys were reading on the couch as I walked by to go down the hall. I noticed that my hall closet was almost entirely torn apart! About 10 towels that were folded neatly on a shelf were all over the floor. I immediately went on a hunt for Brooklyn wondering what she had gotten into. I found her in the boys room with the economy size bottle of children's Flinstone vitamins. She had got the child proof lid off, had a pile of about 40 infront of her and was eating them one right after the other as if they were candy! I quickly read the label which said "WARNING: Accidental overdose of iron-containing products is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children under 6." Of course, I buy the ones with iron! Well, fortunately way back when I was a first time Mother, I prepared myself for anything! I had a bottle of ipecac syrup at the back of my medicine shelf! We quickly gave her the syrup to induce vomitting. ...which she did 3 times before it was over! You know, I REALLY thought that when I had a girl it would be a little less "exciting" than my boys. What was I thinking?!?!? ..She sure keeps us on our toes!!!

Report Cards

The boys got their report cards yesterday. In 3rd grade they start giving letter grades. Chandler got all A's except for a B+ in writing. I think he takes after his Mother! I hated English!!!! Give me something concrete like math!
Jacob got a perfect report card. The only thing he needs to work on is his printing should to be neater. His first problem...he is lefty! His second problem...he is in too much of a hurry!
We go to their parent-teacher conferences this Friday.

Happy Halloween

Brooklyn LOVES Max

The other day I was working on a project which I needed about 3 minutes to complete. Brooklyn came in like the whirlwind she is and started "playing" with the dog. I asked her to get him a treat, hoping this would distract her from tormenting him. This is one of her favorite things to do! I think she is Max's favorite (even though she torments him the most!) because she is always asking me to get her a treat to give to him. Since I was busy with my project, I let her get the bag of treats that I had just bought out of the cupboard. As I completed my project a minute or two later I found an empty bag of dog treats and one happy dog!! Remember I said I had JUST bought the bag! He ate probably 15 treats...lucky guy!

Jacob our Comedian

We were watching the news a little while ago (all 5 of us in the living room). We were sad to hear that "The Crocodile Hunter" was killed. We all listened intently to the news clip reporting Steve Irwin's death. At the end of the clip Jacob said in a voice mimmicking the news anchor, "the sting-ray did not apologize"! Maybe you had to be there, but we all busted out laughing! He keeps us all laughing, all the time!

Chandler is a NERD

A few weeks ago, Chandler was telling Aaron that some kids at the park told him he was a NERD because he was so smart! Chandler did not like being called a nerd. Aaron told him that is ok, because smart people make lots of money. Chandler quickly replied, "Well Dad, you must not be very smart"!!!
